The Sato Project

Founded in 2011 by former Golden Gloves boxer Christina Beckles, The Sato Project rescues abused and abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico. To date, they’ve saved over 8,000 “satos,” providing medical care and placing them in loving U.S. homes. Operating in Yabucoa—once notorious for “Dead Dog Beach”—the group has transformed the area through rescue, spay/neuter programs, disaster relief, and education, addressing not just immediate suffering but also the root causes of overpopulation and neglect.

Meet Odie

Our journey started with Odie, a rescue dog who changed our lives forever. His story is one of resilience, love, and second chances, and it sparked a mission bigger than just hot sauce. Too many dogs in the USA and Mexico are abandoned, left to fend for themselves or face an uncertain fate in overcrowded shelters. We refuse to let them be forgotten.

The Spirit of the
Xolo: A Legacy of
Protection

Ancient mexican lore tells us that dogs—especially the
revered Xoloitzcuintli—were guardians of the afterlife,
guiding souls to their next chapter. Today, we honor
that sacred bond by becoming protectors for dogs
who need a second chance at life. We’re not just
making hot sauce. We’re igniting a movement.
